About Barry Sharif
Barry offers an extensive background in finance and mortgages, and was the one who initially trained Brian and Mike in finance work, long before Fellowship Loans existed. Beginning in 1996, Barry started off his finance career in the credit card division in Virginia. Diligently working his way up, he eventually transitioned over to National Mortgage Company in New York where he slowly worked every role, from loan officer to branch manager, from area manager to regional manager, where he was in charge of 43 branches in 9 states. This experience has allowed him to see the industry from nearly every perspective possible: loan officer, underwriter, executive positions, and also mortgage trainer. “I am very passionate about what I do. I genuinely care about the customers and I always put myself in their shoes and every loan that I do, I ask ‘Is this a loan that I would do for a family member?’ If the answer is ‘Yes’ then I wholeheartedly present the solution. I am not a “in your face” salesperson. I give the borrowers options and let them pick and choose what is best for them. I give my expert advice but at the end of the day it needs to be the loan that fits their needs.” A little known fact is that every loan officer currently working at Fellowship was trained by Barry. The back and forth relationship between Barry and Fellowship owners Mike and Brian shows the kind of community that Fellowship is: one that is interested in long term relationships and treating everyone as you would like to be treated. “Everyone who works here is a team player; most companies don’t have this kind of loyalty. One of the major rules in management is you always look to hire people who are better than you, and I’m fortunate to say that I have done that in my career. What Mike and Brian have created is special. Their drive to do philanthropy work and relationship with the Christian community is amazing.” When not at work, Barry is usually with his family. Having been married over 20 years, he and his wife and their 3 children along with their three dogs spend as much time together as they can. He believes in giving back to the community and volunteers for a local homeless shelter every Friday.
