About Bob Maldonado
I grew up in Redondo Beach, California and received my bachelor’s from University of California Irvine with an emphasis on marine Biology. I worked for the City of Los Angeles for almost 10 years as a marine biology technician and industrial waste inspector. My department monitored Santa Monica Bay to gather information on the water so it was safe for recreational use. We also took samples of fish, the ocean floor and water column to gather data to understand and monitor the marine environment and its changes. An opportunity arose from a college friend that led me into the real estate industry. It allowed me to grow and help others as an entrepreneur. My mathematical skills made it a smooth transition for me. In 1997, I began my career in real estate as a sales person, transitioning into mortgages and origination in 1999. Because of my background with economics, statistics and overall mathematics, it made more sense for me to analyze a borrower’s profile and make an educated decision based on underwriting guidelines. I enjoy working with people and solving problems. Every potential borrower needs a true and accurate assessment on their finances and future financial goals. It is my job to help them navigate these decisions as buying a home is the largest investment most people make. My goal has always been to provide the best customer service to my clients and referral partners as the mortgage business can be difficult and intense at times. Having to work through compliance, investor and government regulation can be stressful. If I can make the process of buying a home a little less stressful for our clients and become someone’s trusted advisor providing sound financial information and knowledge to help them make good decisions – that’s what it’s all about. I strive to make this process as smooth and simple as possible. Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, mountain biking, water skiing, snowboarding and off-roading. California is a great place to live to enjoy the outdoors.
