About Joshua Demeter
"Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me." (Job 38: 2-3) How great would it be to be able to deal with one another in transparency and sincerity? To offer honest answers and advice. To allow yourself to be questioned without the fear of something hidden being uncovered. To stand up for what's right because it's right. I used to know a world like this and I miss it. I joined the Navy in 1996 with aspirations of being a SEAL. I spent 6 years on active duty until I was medically discharged in 2002. During my time in the Navy, I had many jobs: I was a rescue swimmer for 2 years, spent a few years as the team leader for Visit Board Search and Seizure during 2 deployments, I attended Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL training Class 234 and was assigned to SEAL Team 5. After my time in the Navy, I was hired at Sea World in San Diego and I spent 2 years training dolphins and seal lions in the Animal Training department. It didn't take me long to realize that if I wanted to stay living in San Diego, then I needed to make more money than was possible at Sea World. Thus, the transition into the mortgage industry and the transition into the frustration that is the stereotype of the industry. Plain and simple - there is no reason why this industry and process can't be completely transparent. I really enjoy helping people. My mentor taught me at the beginning that if you can help people get what they want, then you can have whatever you want. That is my mission - to help people get what they want. There is no justifiable reason for manipulation, misdirection, omission or coercion, yet it seems that it is widely practiced. In a world where every one is out to get ahead, I want you to get ahead and by doing so, we both benefit. I believe that you can have competition without compromising integrity. I've seen it in the military. I've lived it. I practice it.
