About Chavi Kahan
Ms. Kahan brings over twenty years of experience in mortgage banking and real estate. She began in 1995 as a title abstract reader. In less than two years, she was managing the Closing and Post-Closing departments for two well-known correspondent lenders. Subsequently, Ms. Kahan obtained her DE and served as lead DE underwriter for a multi-state correspondent lender. In 2001, she and her husband founded Odyssey Funding, a mortgage banking firm based in Long Island, New York and serving eleven states. As President of Odyssey, Ms. Kahan oversaw pipeline management and Operations including, processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing, reporting, investor relationships, regulatory compliance, and product development and implementation. She also developed and communicated guideline and regulatory changes companywide, implemented a new LOS and transitioned the company to a paperless environment. Over the years, Ms. Kahan developed countless secondary market and affiliated business relationships, consulted for investors in connection with co-op guidelines and trained secondary market investors with regard to the NY CEMA process. Mrs. Chavi Kahan joined Luxury Mortgage Corp. in 2015 as the Managing Director of Product Development. In this role, she monitors the competitiveness of the Firm’s products and pricing, maintains constant communication with investors in the roll out of new products and manages the performance of the existing product database. To maximize loan production, Chavi also provides assistance to nationwide production units in all aspects of loan originations—including deal structuring, loan scenarios, product and pricing support, product/pricing exception requests and training new loan originators on products and pricing. Her duties also include providing marketing presentations for loan originator candidates, representing Luxury at industry events and improving the investor database. Chavi also manages Luxury’s Cedarhurst branch. As branch manager, Ms. Kahan supports and advises the branch sales staff to assist them with growing their business & delivering to their customers, along with bringing in her own book of sales. Chavi utilizes her extensive experience and industry knowledge to assist all types of customers, for all types of properties, with all types of financing needs. All of her clients are from referrals, primarily from past customers and related parties that were extremely impressed with her navigation of the process and delivery of the financing. Chavi's extensive underwriting background, understanding complicated tax returns and income structures, and her unique perspective to understand other credit underwriting & guideline roadblocks provide a solution-oriented process to accomplish loan financing approvals that can otherwise not be obtained at traditional banks and mortgage lenders.
