About Valerie Fenchel
I am a Bay Area native, presently residing in San Francisco. I am trained in mediation, negotiation, and litigation. I handle uncontested divorces and complex custody matters, as well as premarital agreements, the division of marital assets, child support, and spousal support issues. My main office is located above Jackson Square in San Francisco. You can reach me at (415) 805-9069 or email me at Valerie@FenchelFamilyLaw.com.  Prior to attending law school, I managed the care and education for toddlers, elementary age children, and preteens. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa with High Honors from UC Santa Barbara and earned my J.D. from UC Davis School of Law where I served as President of the Negotiations Team. I sharpened my trial skills through honors programs with the Office of the Attorney General and U.S. Department of Justice. I practiced family law at premier firms in the San Francisco Bay Area, before becoming owner of Fenchel Family Law . I excel at crafting parenting plans, negotiating settlements and litigating custody battles on behalf of parents that are able to put their child's needs first. I have experience helping parents of newborns, toddlers, special needs children, and defiant teenagers.  I understand that every child is different, and that each child’s parenting plan and care must be narrowly tailored to meet his/her needs, either by agreement or Court order. When I am not helping my clients, I am helping my Bay Area community. I am Lead Attorney of Shalom Bayit’s Pro Bono Legal Panel, Secretary of the Jewish Bar Association of San Francisco, and am completing a two year Federation Fellowship on the board of the Jewish Community High School of the Bay.  I recently celebrated my parents’ 35th wedding anniversary, and in June 2018 will be celebrating my marriage to the man that continues to empower me.
